Before getting started with Delubrum Reginae (Savage) unlike other content in Final Fantasy XIV, certain requirements must be fulfilled before unlocking and attempting the 48-man savage-tier raid. Once Upon a DRSC, formerly known as DRS Casual, is a niche community that focuses solely on organizing raids from fresh to finish. We are a public group (pug) based setting where players do not need to set aside a certain duration to log in for practices or reclears. Instead, we organize runs as often as a Moderator of the community can organize for the run.
Without too much info, let us get right into preparing for DRS. If you are with us for the first time, this is some information that would be useful in your practice in DRS. Let us take a look at the commonly asked questions, guides via Discord, and Sites or preparation before raid day.
By this point, you should have registered on our Discord server. If you have yet to join us, here's the invitation link to get yourself registered, https://discord.gg/pw4MmnPRkZ.
Go through our exclusive bot that handles registration and ping setup, so you may be informed of upcoming raids within the #schedule channel. Keep your pings neat, you may deselect some @roles as you progress deeper into the raid. Once you've been verified, you will gain access to the large array of guides made available in our Discord channels.
So what's the difference between Discord and Sites? Well, in Sites we can compile the FAQ asked in our Discussion channels. With all the conversations and replies, these questions get bumped up.
All the important info are posted here. Schedules for raids or even requesting for reserves on an actual day
Niche discussion on actions for different roles, and channels catering to explaining mechanics.
Gear sets and Best-in-slot (BiS) are essential to remaining optimized in FFXIV Savage-tier raids. However, in Bozjan-related content, it is not the case. Item Levels are synced to i480 regardless of what you're equipped with. Yes, that means you can go in with a glamour outfit and weapon to look at your gpose-ready photos and still benefit from the item level sync.
All statuses are synced to i480 and materia melding is not taken into account for your total stats. Instead, there is a good-to-have status known as Haste, which reduces your GCD timing for skills/spells. The faster you hit, the more damage output you produce.
As a newbie, the easiest way to get your first Bozja Haste is via appraising 1,000 fragments for an achievement that gives a reward: Bozjan Earrings. Augmenting Bozjan gears obtained from the supplier in Bozja Southern Front also grants Haste, but you will need to grind out CLL for those coins.
tldr; There is no BiS for DRS raiding. Augmented Bozjan gear which grants Haste is optional but definitely beneficial. Players can clear DRS with just the Earrings.
Lost Actions and Pure Essences are essential. There is a long list of Lost Actions that any player can use, provided the action has an affinity with their Job. To simplify the experience for everyone, we have prepared a list of the Lost Actions used in the fight and it can be found in the links on the left. If you know what you are looking for, go ahead and check out the Fragment page for the list of Actions to bring along.
Otherwise, we suggest you take a look at the Role Guides as they also come with actions to bring along and FAQs.
There are several criteria before we host any run. We need to first:
Confirm availability within the Moderators who can host any raid.
Host includes: Shot calling and Raid explanations.
Confirm the time and date of availability.
Once the team meet these requirements, an organizer will post the sign-up link in the #schedule channel for the appropriate raid progression level. (Fresh, Boss 3, Reclear, etc). Our runs are held by the Boss' progression level. Once we complete a full cycle including several reclear runs, we will begin from Fresh practice again.
Oh there are a lot of things to prepare here, but for now this is what you can get. Honestly we have all the information in our Discord channels. This page is set up for those who prefers out of Discord content.
We use Google Forms for Raid registrations. We use a first-come-first-serve, followed by an appropriate progress level, and a suitable role in each team. As players progress deeper into Boss 3 onwards, we will keep track of players based on their progress level. If they are suitable for the raid, they gain priority.
Organizers will indicate who gains priority in each raid, so be sure to look at the criteria before applying. The Sign-up form contains various fields that could be unfamiliar, so be sure to check out on the form's breakdown.
You have come to the end of this introduction and we hope you are all set with our Discord environment. If you have any questions, DM Hrothbot instead of a moderator. Hrothbot is the moderating team's medium for conveying messages and receiving them. Here is a quick guide on how to use Hrothbot. Happy raiding!
